Immersion

Sister Wendy Beckett, the homely Catholic nun who did more for beauty than 1000 Miss Universe contests, once commented on the controversial Immersion (Piss Christ) photograph by Andres Serrano. In an interview with Bill Moyers, she said the work of art was not blasphemy. It was a statement about what "we are doing to Christ."

This is true for all of us on occasion.
